What's New ?
Canada Yew Borealis has been attempting to develop a local workforce in the Wawa, Ontario area to harvest Canada Yew (Taxus canadensis), in association with Chatham Biotec Limited (www.chathambiotec.com). Operations started in 2004, with over 20,000 lbs. of yew biomass being collected, purchased, and shipped to CBL's facilities in New Brunswick. Efforts continued in 2005 to identify harvest locations and collect additional yew biomass. Read more here about our yew collection efforts. Boundary Layout Aids For those of you who
might
prefer to lay out your harvest block boundaries using the traditional
compass
and hipchain method, we have a product that will astonishingly
alleviate the
worst part of the job - calculating the bearings and distances
for
the traverse. For contractors and logging superintendents, we
estimate
that the traverse bearings and distances for your entire annual
operations
could be completed in less than a day. You receive maps and
tables
listing the required information for your traverses - extremely
accurate
and retrievable in an instant, since we can provide you this info in
any
popular spreadsheet format (eg., Excel). This product is also
useful
for those individuals who use simple GPS units to check their positions
-
waypoint information is generated quickly and accurately for each
corner
of the traverse. Check out the details at this link: LAYOUT
AIDS Updates to Recent Projects Whenever
we get time, we try to update our file listing
recently
completed projects. To see "what we've been up to", follow this
